Throwback to the Georgina Sign Wars of 2021

I was thinking about all the reasons I love to call the Town of Georgina home and I was reminded that three years ago, we witnessed a burst of community spirit with the advent of #SignWars among local businesses.

My memory may be wrong, but I believe it all began with Keswick Home Hardware's cheeky sign aimed at the Queensway Marketplace. Soon, the streets were adorned with witty slogans and colorful displays as businesses engaged in a playful battle of signage.

And like the good sports that they are, The Queensway Marketplace joined the fray, playfully calling out Connor's Music in the process. It was a testament to the friendly rivalry that characterized the #SignWars, showcasing the community's lighthearted and inclusive spirit.

True to form, Connor's Music didn't "miss a beat" with their comeback. It was a harmonious exchange that resonated throughout the town, adding another layer of fun to the spirited #SignWars.

Meanwhile, Home Hardware wasn't quite finished with Queensway Marketplace either. With a mischievous grin, their next sign was a playful jab that kept the friendly rivalry alive and the community amused.

It just kept getting better

You have to understand something about the Georgina Garden Centre though, their sign game is strong!

I'm sure I am missing someone here, so feel free to leave a comment if you know of any others, but I'll leave you with one more gem from the Keswick Presbyterian Church. It was a heartwarming reminder that in Georgina, community spirit knows no bounds.
